The summers of 2022 and 2023 left my yard pretty barren as I couldn't find the heart to work with my gardens and plant flowers. I've always loved my backyard when it is in full bloom. This year I found the energy to find my joy again! When I get tired of my old house and wish for something newer, I can step out onto my deck and see flowers blooming from every angle. I know my Tall Man is up in heaven nodding his approval.
This hibiscus plant is probably six or seven years old. The glorious blooms are just total joy bringers! My grandgirls think the petals are made of velvet. I love that they are building an appreciation for God's glory so early in life!
Last summer my brother-in-law, Paul Roth, planted a tomato plant for me. It produced wonderful snacks all summer! This year, a volunteer came up and has grown into this! Just like Paul, it's the gift that keeps on giving. And my rooster keeps a close watch over it!
Last year I did plant a few flowers in my old wooden cooler, but my lack of enthusiasm resulted in a bunch of stringy petunias which provided no joy to anyone. This year I can't stop looking at it! My grands helped me choose the colors and we are all very happy with the result!
So, here's a little joy from me to you. Life is good. God is good. As always, thanks for reading my rambling thoughts. Cheers to a lovely Sunday afternoon. I'm heading to the pool!
