Another SNOW day! Arrgh

February 2, 2023 4 snow days in a row! Grandparents, raise your hand if you are ready for a thaw! I am ready to open my pool, but not as an ice rink and I am ready for these kiddos (whom I love with all my heart) to go back to school!

I have six grandchildren: Josh, 14, Luke, 12, Drew, 7, Haddie, 7, Millie, 5, and last but not least, Norah Grace, 2 (almost three, no more baby!) I've had all the the oldest two here most of the week. They are best friends. The two 7 year-olds are cousins, but they act like twins. They are getting old enough that they can do things for themselves, which give me time to fiddle with this website and work on my writing! :)

I have always written. Little essays and thoughts. About 12 years ago I started working on a novel. I just wrote for fun, my main character loosely based on where I was in life at the time. My tag line for my pitch for this story is: "Show me a middle-aged woman who hasn't wanted to run away from her life at one time or another, and I 'll show you a liar."

Lol, there were definitely times that I wanted to run away, thus my working title, Running Away. My novel is complete fiction, but as I read it over and over, I can connect many of the events in Lynn's life to my own or to people I know. My story's main character is Lynn. She's a work in progress, just like me.

Anyway, this journey started a long time ago. Started and stopped. I wrote for fun and never thought I might actually pursue publication. Then I broke my ankle a year ago and had nothing but time on my hands, since I couldn't stand on my feet. I dusted off the laptop and jumped back in, a little more serious this time. My husband, Scott, was so pumped and stood behind me all the way. He was so sure I could get published, that I started to believe it myself.

My sweet man had a massive heart attack April 9, 2022 and was jerked out of my life. One minute here, then gone. That is all for another day, though. He is my motivation and I can feel him smiling with every step I take.

Thanks for taking the time to read!
